Brighton has appointed Fabian Hurzeler as their new head coach, making him the youngest in Premier League history at 31. The Seagulls announced that the American-born German coach has signed a three-year contract following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi, who led the team to a Champions League qualification in his first season.

Technical director David Weir mentioned that Hurzeler’s support staff will be confirmed soon, with Andrew Crofts and Jack Stern already part of the team as first-team coach and goalkeeping coach, respectively. Brighton negotiated a compensation figure with St. Pauli last week, and Hurzeler, who guided St. Pauli to promotion last season, will be officially introduced at a press conference on July 2.

Weir added: “We will confirm all of Fabian’s immediate backroom staff in due course, although Andrew Crofts and Jack Stern will be part of that coaching group, as first-team coach and goalkeeping coach respectively.”
