Former Nigeria U17 player Clement Ikenna has signed for Bulgarian club Levski Sofia for an undisclosed fee.
Ikenna signing his contract with his new club
The 21 year-old defensive midfielder – also comfortable at centre back and right back – called time on a two-year spell with Croatian side NK Dubrava to sign a three-year contract with Levski Sofia.
Ikenna was one of the standout players for the Golden Eaglets at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations and Fifa U17 World Cup both in 2019, playing across nine consecutive matches during the tournaments held in Tanzania and Brazil respectively.
The Port Harcourt-born player began his career in Europe with the academy of another Croatian side NK Zagorec before a summer transfer in 2022 to NK Dubrava where he made 61 appearances, scoring three goals in the process.
Ikenna follows in the footsteps of compatriots Garba Lawal, Omonigho Temile, Justice Christopher, Richard Eromoigbe, Ekundayo Jayeoba, and Tunde Adeniji who were former players of Levski Sofia.
The 26-time Bulgaria champions begin the 2024/2025 season with a derby clash against Lokomotiv Sofia on the 20th of July.
