Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen was involved in an altercation with a fan at a nightclub in Italy on Sunday night.

He was seen angrily confronting a fan who was filming him at the nightclub in Naples.

In a 16-second video, Osimhen can be seen pushing through the crowd to snatch the phone from the fan’s hands.

The striker appeared visibly annoyed probably due to being filmed in the nightclub.

The incident has drawn significant attention, highlighting the mounting pressure on the 25 year-old as uncertainty about his future continues to surround him.

According to Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, Victor Osimhen is expected to face a fine following his recent nightclub altercation.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte is known for his strict stance on discipline and this incident is unlikely to go unnoticed by the 55 year-old.

Osimhen has been the subject of constant speculation linking him with an exit from Napoli, with the likes of Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly showing interest in him, but have all baulked at his €130m release clause in his contract that expires in 2026.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Naples club’s sporting director has confirmed that Osimhen wants to leave the club.

Romano has previously stated that two major factors were going to play a role in Osimhen’s choice of the next club he would move to.

Osimhen is averse to the idea of a loan move and would prefer a permanent transfer which will give him more assurance about his future. Chelsea had previously discussed the possibility of Romelu Lukaku – who Conte wants as his number nine this upcoming season – moving to Napoli and Osimhen coming in the opposite direction in a loan deal with an option to buy.

The Nigerian striker’s hefty weekly wages of €325,000 have also complicated matters with several clubs hesitant to match his salary demands.

Despite interest from Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal reportedly willing to meet Napoli’s release clause and offer a lofty salary, Osimhen wants to remain in Europe.

Although he resumed pre-season training with Napoli, he had been left out of the club’s friendlies and most recently in a competitive match against Modena in the first knockout round of the Coppa Italia which Conte’s side won 4-3 on penalty kicks.

With just over two weeks remaining before the transfer window closes, both Osimhen and Napoli will be under pressure to find a solution to what has become a transfer saga.
