Super Eagles number one Stanley Nwabali has ended speculation over his future by penning a three-year contract extension with PSL side Chippa United.

The South Africans also announced that the 28 year-old will be the new captain of the Port Elizabeth club.

“We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC,” the club said.

“We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead.

“With this been said Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season.

“We wish Stanley continued success in his career, both in domestic competitions and on the international stage.

“We look forward to achieving great things together in the seasons to come.”

There was reported interest from PSL duo Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers and Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq but an official bid was not put in for Nwabali.

He has been called up for this month’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
